Why I Failed and What I Needed to Happen

For 10 years my biggest goal has been

“How can I make money online so that I can have the freedom to work where I want and when I want

For 10 years I can categorically say that I have spectacularly failed at reaching this goal. The most money I have ever made online was $750 and it was by complete accident. I just happened to be in the right place at the right time to film this happen and then MSNBC in New York happened to want the footage for their hit TV show “Caught on Camera”. I’m quite sure they aired the footage sans my excited commentary – hopefully. And sucked in to all the trolls on YouTube and their nasty comments – because $750 ner ner :-p I’ve also earned a small fortune ($32) by making pseudo-testimonial videos on Fiverr.

Assuming total working hours over a 10 year period to be 19,200 hours (40 hours per week multiplied by 48 weeks per year multiplied by 10 years) and then using my total income ever earned online ($782) I can work out that my time online making money equates to about $.04 per hour or $6.51 per month or $78.20 annually.  That’s not really going to cut it and give me the freedom I’m looking for…

And that’s not taking into account the thousands of dollars I’ve spent on “make money online” courses, trainings and products that yielded me nothing but an empty wallet. Caveat – I don’t blame the courses, trainings and products that gave me no results – I did learn many things – I can only place the blame solely on myself because I did not focus and do the work that was required.

One of my motives in relaunching this website is to demonstrate that I have the ability to do actual consistent work. But that’s not to say I’m a stranger to work, I’ve worked in over 60 jobs (a comprehensive list of these “jobs” can be found on my LinkedIn profile. I’ve also had a few start ups that didn’t work out  – several iterations of an an app company (Apprahensiv, App My Team, Local-Biz-Apps, English Teacher App)  a PR company and development of an online raffle ticketing system. But. No sales. All fails. So what have I learnt from all this failure? What do I need to do in order to achieve success?

  • Step 1: Form a plan.

  • Step 2: Execute the plan.

  • Step 3: Profits.

It all seems so easy…
